Shelley Smolen seeks out the best all natural & certified organic products and brings them to her clientele In addition to detailed grooming and skin care. Shelley started grooming in MD in 2000, for this clinic and then opened Animal Instincts Pet Spa.

Shelley has been working with animals for over 30 years, since her childhood on her Grandfather's ranch in South Texas, a kennel job at a vets office all through high school, and many grooming facilities and other vet offices.

Shelley competes in International Grooming Competitions, local workshops, certifications and seminars to keep abreast of new and exciting innovations of tools and equipment to keep pets safe and comfortable. She is currently working on her Master Groomer Certification for canines, her Master Groomer Certification for felines and classes on skin and massage, so she can meet all of your pets needs.

We are a clean, green grooming facility. All brushes, clipper blades, combs, cages, tubs & anything else that touches your pet has been cleaned and sanitized with all natural cleansers. Our shampoos contain no soap! Aloe or coconut cleansers only perfect for people and pets with sensitive skin!

Shelley resides in Maryland with her husband and 2 children. She has 2 adorable Chihuahuas, Rosa & Jose. She also enjoys gardening, baking and playing disc golf.
