
Dr. Stuart Ellis
Dr. Ellis was raised in North Carolina and attended East Carolina University where he majored in Biology and Chemistry. During undergraduate he worked as an EMT working in the human medical field. After undergraduate he realized his calling was in veterinary medicine after spending some time with his identical twin brother, who was currently in veterinary school himself. Dr. Ellis graduated veterinary school from North Carolina State University. Dr. Ellis has practice in Nevada, Virginia, North Carolina, and is now practicing in Maryland with his wife (Dr. Deanna McFillin) near where she grew up.
Dr. Ellis focuses on surgery and emergency medicine. In his free time he likes hunting, fishing, and hanging out with his family.

Dr. Deanna McFillin
Dr. McFillin was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. After high school, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal & Avian Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park (Fear the Turtle!). She then continued her education at Louisiana State University where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She has practiced in Nevada, Virginia, and California, but has finally returned home to Maryland with her husband, Dr. Stuart Ellis, and daughter.
She and Dr. Ellis also care for their Australian Labradoodle, Fiji, and two cats, Gibson and Harvey. Her professional interests include internal medicine, endocrinology, and feline medicine. When life affords more time, she is looking forward to traveling the world with her family.

Dr. George Harmening
Dr. Harmening started his veterinary career over 25 years ago when he received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Since then, he has worked all over Maryland, including being the personal veterinarian for Medieval Times. He also owned and operated his own Sports Medicine practice. While he has since sold it, he is still passionate about thoroughbred horses, continuing to breed, raise, and race them on his farm. He and his wife, Kim, also raised and showed national winning Himalayan cats.
For the past 5 years, Dr. Harmening has been providing services for Advanced Veterinary Complex. In his spare time, he enjoys watching Ravens football games and serving his community on several boards.
